about
I do math, make websites, and click buttons professionally.
Bello, I’m DeeJay Bui, a photographer based in Los Angeles and the Bay Area. I shoot portraits, editorials, events, and the occasional product. I used to teach photography classes at UC Berkeley, where I also happened to study applied math and data science.
That’s pretty much my personality, lol. I start photography in high school with just a film camera, but now, I obsess over the minute details and the exact moment. But what I’m after is simpler: capturing the beautiful moments.
Off the clock I’m probably thinking about fashion, exploring new places, or trying to work out why a photo lands when it has no business landing. If you want the analytical side out in the open, the Code Behind the Camera page takes one of these shots down to its pixels.
